The Doitsu Hariwake Butterfly is a variety that stops you in your tracks. This 10"–12" Decorative specimen combines a luminous, near-translucent platinum-white base with warm golden-orange (hariwake) patches that glow like sunlight through shallow water. The Doitsu scalation keeps the body clean and smooth — just a single row of mirror scales along the dorsal line — letting the color contrast take center stage. Add long, flowing butterfly fins that trail gracefully through the water, and you have a fish that's as mesmerizing in motion as it is at rest.

Care Notes

Doitsu Hariwake Butterfly koi are peaceful and adaptable, doing well in ponds with good filtration and clean water. Feed a color-enhancing diet like Blackwater Color Enhancing to maintain and brighten the golden hariwake pattern. Their long fins thrive in well-oxygenated water. Minimum pond size of 1,000 gallons recommended.
