A Truly Rare Blue — Long Flowing Fins

The Shusui is one of the few koi varieties that is genuinely, unmistakably blue. A Doitsu variety — scaleless along the dorsal line — its signature blue-grey back is unlike anything else in the pond. Pair that with the dramatic, billowing fins of a butterfly koi, and you have a combination that is exceptionally rare and impossible to overlook. Shusui are hardy, adaptable koi that thrive in well-maintained ponds with good filtration and stable water quality. Feed a high-quality staple diet like Blackwater Ultimate Combo Diet to support overall health and color. Their long butterfly fins do best in clean, well-oxygenated water with minimal sharp decor. Minimum pond size of 1,000 gallons recommended.
