This large, mature fish displays the hallmark Showa tri-color pattern at its finest: a bright white ground with bold, deep red-orange hi in large sweeping patches, overlaid with rich black sumi that wraps around the body and extends onto the head — the defining characteristic that sets Showa apart from Sanke.

The pattern on this individual is exceptionally well-balanced: the three colors are distributed across the body with strong contrast and clear definition between each element.
